Lucky for you, she likes answering questions. If this is for an upcoming Q+A episode, please note whether you’d prefer to have your name or any identifying details omitted.
Due to time constraints, Lisa doesn’t do personal coaching or allow people to pick her brain. If you have a question (that can’t be answered on social media), the Q+A submission is the best way to get a detailed and thoughtful answer.

I’m flattered you/your client would like to appear on Behind the Brilliance. Here are some guidelines to save us both some time:
Don’t Be Lazy: Given the number of pitches we receive, I’ve created a policy to ignore pitches that aren’t customized to the show. That means you’ve addressed a specific person, named the show, and offered specific reasons why your pitch makes sense for BTB. I strongly suggest listening to at least a few episodes of the show to get a sense for my style and the type of people who appear on the show. Lazy or blanket pitches get deleted.
Experts Are Rare: Behind the Brilliance is not a traditional business show so it’s not the place to find leads for your coaching program, expensive course, or whatever else you’re selling. Therefore, subject matter experts generally aren’t a good fit. The show is really about stories so pitch with narrative in mind. That said, there are several exceptions like Daniel Crosby who delivered wisdom in a laid back and thought-provoking way.
Pros Get Personal: Even when super corporate types or venture capitalists are on the show, we talk about their personal lives. Personal stories fit alongside our work stories in interesting ways and help paint a more nuanced picture of who you are. If you’re pitching, be okay with talking about a wide range of topics (it keeps things fun and fresh!). If you don’t want to talk about your personal life at all (avoiding certain topics is fine), BTB is probably not the right fit.
Takeaways Matter: What will my audience come away with after listening to you? I feel a tremendous responsibility to deliver on my promise since I usually ask my listeners to spend an hour (or two!) with me and the guest. That means they need to finish listening to our talk feeling inspired, informed, or entertained. The bull’s eye is to achieve all 3 if possible.
