Jamila is the creator of the blog and podcast, Journey To Launch. She is a Certified Financial Education Instructor (CFEI). Raised by a single mom, she learned the concept of hard work and the value of money at a very early age. While her friends were blowing their money on the latest fads, she was saving for her first real estate property, which she was able to buy right out of college, at the age of 22.
Because of her money habits, her family is debt free (besides the mortgage) and are on the way to becoming financially independent by the age of 40. She loves to teach, inspire and help others jumpstart their journey to financial freedom!
Jamila’s podcast, Journey To Launch, was named one of “27 Podcasts You Need To Start Listening To In 2018″ by BuzzFeed. She is also the resident financial expert on a weekly segment on News12, the most watched local TV news-station in NYC and has been featured in other notable media outlets such as Money Magazine, TIME, Business Insider, Refinery29, CNBC, ESSENCE Magazine & CBS.
