A) Physical Stuff

-Am I physically, mentally, or emotionally exhausted? (If yes, then rest in whatever way is needed.)

-Am I hydrated and nourished?

-Do I need to walk or exercise to flush some of the adrenaline, cortisol, or negative energy?

-Would a shower help me center myself?

-Do I need to take a break from technology so I can be with my feelings and hear myself think clearly?

 

B) Thought Exercises for Clarity + Peace + Strategic Action

-meditate/deep breathe/center

-pen + pad and answer the following:

What factually happened or is happening?

How do I feel about what’s happening?

Is the story I’m telling myself about this situation helpful? How can I reframe the narrative? What is the brightest possible interpretation of these events?

What is outside of your control? What is within your control?

Which of the things within your control could you do something about right now?

Add action items to calendar/to do list

Have I treated myself compassionately during this time?

How can I show up for myself right now?

Do I need help that I haven’t yet asked for?

Write a note to yourself as if a friend you love and care about came to you with the problem/crisis you’re having. How would you compassionately advise them and comfort them?

Revisit The Four Agreements 

Do something to fun to celebrate how I will feel when I move past this difficult time
